Since I am the tech head of the family, I have been asked to download songs from CD’s onto Mr. T’s ipod. He selected a ginormous stack of CD’s from our collection and set them on the desk in the den for me to work on when I had time.
Now, I am not a prude and can swear like a trucker when need be, but I think I just blushed and I know I just turned the volume waaaay down for fear of young ears overhearing something that comes with a parental advisory label. I am downloading Kid Rock~Cocky.

I have heard this song  many, many times in the past, but I think I have either a.) have never paid much attention to the lyrics or b.) have always heard it in a loud, smokey bar and never paid attention to the lyrics!

I like Kid Rock.  I really do and I am a lover of most music. But WOW.  Let me just say that there is a reason that a parental advisory sticker is on the CD.  Not something I want my boy’s to listen to, at least not until they are about , oh I don’t know…maybe 40?

I would post the lyrics here for you to read, except I think that might be copyright infringement or something like that.  And my kids occasionally read my blog.  And my parents.  So just trust me.  Or you can google “lyrics to Cocky by Kid Rock” and read them for yourself.  (Not you, Mom!) 

What I find amusing is now I am going to be in the kitchen making dinner, with my slippers on, jeans and a sweatshirt, hair in a pony, singing this song out loud to myself.  You know, just like a “big, corn fed Midwestern ummm…girl.”   Yeah, just like a music video!
