Fall fishing, fall colors…. fall swimming????

I finally am getting a chance to post some of our fall photos from our trip up north. The fall colors were spectacular, the fishing not so much! Boy #1 and his cousin Tyler ended up taking 3rd place in the walleye tournament. They had a great time and the weather cooperated.

And here is my boy, with the 3rd place fish, yes, kissing it! Forget about girls! It is walleyes that are the source of his affections!

The scenery as we headed north was breathtaking. From about Fond du lac on north, the colors got more vibrant. Here are photos of the drive:

Somewhere around Stevens Point

The following photos were taken on the road that leads to my parent’s resort. The pictures don’t do it justice. I am not exaggerating when I say that it is awesome! Really, it is stunning! The walk along this road is so peaceful. It truly is God’s country. If you have never been to northern Wisconsin in the fall, you should really try to get there. While your at it, call my parents and see if they have a cabin available. You will not be sorry!

Boy #2 on a hike, backpack and all!

As you can see, my boy has on a backpack for his hike. Makes sense, right? Well, it might make sense to you, until you find out what is in his backpack. Usually, if someone is going hiking, they may pack a water bottle, a piece of fruit, maybe even bug spray. Not my boy! While hiking through the north woods, my boy packed some DVD’s, his Nintendo DS and a few CD’s. He thought he might want to take a break somewhere and catch a movie. Never mind that there was no DVD player! A boy scout he is NOT!

About a week after getting home from up north, my brother and sister in law had a pool party! That is right. A pool party in October. In Wisconsin. The tempature reached almost 80 degrees that day, so the kids made one last splash! We celebrated my brothers birthday and also the completion of their new deck that my brother and his buddy designed and built by themselves!

As you can see, my brother is pretty talented. He can build just about anything. It is nice to have someone like that in your family, especially when a new deck is needed at Casa Teenie!

We had a great time at their party. We ate really good food, had some Rum Punch and enjoyed good company. A recipe for fun! And besides, when do you ever get a chance to swim in October?
