As I have said before, our family is trying to “tighten our belts” a little. We are trying to not spend foolishly and “live in the moment” which means trying not to overspend on things we do not need. Need being the key word! I am grocery shopping with a list, planning meals better and even using coupons (eye roll, sigh)
Last night was no different, except for I forgot to take the ground chuck out of the freezer. The plan was to make my kids favorite meat loaf. (That is not a joke…it is one of their most requested meals, under Chicken Parmesan!) Well, the beef was not defrosted enough by 5:30, so I made a quick shift to plan B, which would be pasta and a salad. Well, as I was getting the ingredients from the cabinet, this exchange took place:
Mr. T: “Oh, honey. Don’t make pasta. Let’s just go and get a pizza.”
ME: “No. We are going to have pasta and a salad. Remember, we are not eating out!”
Mt. T.: “Oh, come on! Kaiser’s has their pizza special tonight!”
ME: “NO! Remember….not spending on wants! Only needs!
Mr. T. “But I need pizza!”
Me: “No, you don’t. You need a fat bank account!”
Mr. T : “But I won $100.00 on the Packer game!”
Me: “Kids, get your shoes on! We are going to Kaisers for a pizza!”
Yeah for the Packers! And double yeah for Kaiser’s Pizza. Love their veggie pizza!

Actually, it was $75.00. But who’s counting? And I still got Kaisers!

Hey, congrats on the win! And the whole fam reaped the rewards with ‘za! Everyone’s a winner!
You guys crack me up….
And on a side note…should I be requesting Kaiser’s pizza on future trips to K-town? We always get Pa’s (which is really good, by the way), but maybe I’m missing out on something??
